Involve Youth Project Navan has completed its first programme for young people since setting up the Unity Youth Cafe and Youth Project in the Unity Centre, Windtown, Navan in October 2011.
The young people attending our Wednesday night session in the Unity Centre have undergone a 5 week (once a week) Practical First Aid Skills Programme delivered to us by Bernie Woods & Michael Fitzsimons from Meath Civil Defence.
“It was a very successful course and our youth club members were very interested and attended regularly”, said Kay McCabe, Involve’s Youth Co-Ordinator. “They now have the basic tools to use in the event of an emer-gency”.
This is the first of many Youth Activities that will be rolled out over 2012 with courses such as ‘Bike Safety’, ‘Babysitting Certificate’, ‘Football refe-ree Certifi-cate’ to name but a few. In-volve Project Unity operates a Youth Cafe in the Unity Centre Wind-town on a Mon-day night from 6-8pm and our pre-booked Youth Activity on a Wednesday night 6-7pm. Both are open to all young people aged 10-16 years of age.
